Ag Shop
The South Iredell Agricultural Mechanics Department provides students with hands on opportunities to build practical skills that will benefit them long term. In the wood shop, students begin by earning their OSHA certification to ensure they understand workplace safety before starting projects. They then develop foundational carpentry skills such as measuring, cutting, assembling, and finishing through guided, real world applications. Students work with a variety of tools and materials, gaining confidence and attention to detail in their craftsmanship. In addition to woodworking, they are introduced to construction techniques and equipment maintenance within the agricultural mechanics field. This structured, hands on approach helps students strengthen technical ability while also developing problem solving, teamwork, and responsibility that prepare them for future careers in agriculture and skilled trades.
